Clark County School District (CCSD) is the fifth largest in the United States with 309,787 students. CCSD offers a range of programs for the special needs of their students. In addition to core curriculum, CCSD offers magnet schools and programs, various accelerated and Advance Placement programs and special education services.

Age Requirements
Nevada law requires school atendance between ages 7
and 18. Kindergarten is part of the regular schol program
As of July 1, 2023, children must be five years old or
younger by August 1 to enroll in kindergarten in Nevada's
public schools. State law requires that a child m u s t
atend a state-approved kindergarten program or take a
developmental assessment test t o enter first grade.
Bus Services
Students w h o live m o r e t h a n 2 miles from zoned schools
are eligible for bus transportation. Those who are
eligible must fill out an application form requesting the
service. The forms are available throughout the Clark
County School District. Bus times and route schedules

Students with zone variances will NOT be bused. Parents
will b e responsible for t h e child's transportation t o a n d
from schol.

Enrollment
In order to enro l students:
Must have proof of immunizations before classes begin
Parents entering their children in a District School for
the first time must have identification, child's social
security number, and two forms of proof of address.
Proof of child's identity can be the original birth
certificate or passport. Identification must be an
original - no copies are accepted.
The required proof of address can be a recent utility
bill,rental receipt, residential lease agreement or sales
contract. Telephone bills, cable bills, and driver's
license are not accepted as proof of address.
Al students who are transferring from another school
district require transcripts or report cards from the
previous school.
Immunizations
Nevada law requires that children in kindergarten
through grade 12 are current with their immunizations
before they are allowed to enter school. Parents/
guardians are to bring immunization records with them
to school when they register their child.
A child will not be allowed to attend school without
documentation of immunizations. Exceptions are
permitted for "religious objections," which requires a
letter from the parent or guardian stating the religious
objection, or for a medical condition, which requires a
letter from a health care provider.
For the new school year, students must be up to date
with all required immunizations. Students entering 7th
grade also must have the recently-mandated Tdap
vaccine which protects against tetanus, diphtheria and
pertussis, or whooping cough.
Students new to Nevada are required to have
immunizations for hepatitis A and B, and varicella
(chicken pox). If a child has had chicken pox, the parent
or guardian must sign a "Verification of Disease" form,
which is available at each school. A second dose of
MMR is required for all kindergarten and first-grade
students.

High School Graduation Requirements
To graduate from the CCSD, students must complete
their required course work and pass the Nevada High
School Proficiency Exams in reading, writing, math and
science. Students who enter ninth grade must earn 22 %
credits in the following subjecis:
• Mathematics course units niust include at least Algebra 1 or 1M, or
Applied Aigebra 1A or 1B, or above
A maximum of one PE Il waiver can be earned by participation in certain activities
